Job Summary

Your role is critical in partnering with the business to develop and execute our people initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinates, implements, and drives the hiring process by working closely with hiring managers to ascertain departmental needs, level new positions, draft and post job descriptions, source and screen candidates, identify qualified applicants, schedule interviews, draft and extend job offers to candidates, and close successful candidates by driving the completion of applicable pre-employment testing and background checks, including assessing the results thereof.
  2. Partners with EHS to proactively address improvements to our safety culture and assists with managing and monitoring Workers Compensation claims.
  3. Manages the leave of absence process by guiding employees on how to file a claim to receive company and state benefits during the leave period, documenting, certifying, and approving leaves of absence, partnering with managers to plan for employees' leave and return to work, and liaising between ITT's benefits administrator, Payroll, and employees during the employees' leaves of absence.
  4. Conducts thorough and objective investigations into employee complaints or concerns, as needed, making recommendations on the appropriate course of action for resolution, drafting comprehensive reports on investigation findings and outcome/resolution, and any other documentation resulting from the investigation, as needed, and escalating more complex, sensitive, or business-critical cases to the HR Business Partner.
  5. Executes assigned projects, as needed, including, but not limited to, merit reviews, Workday audits, and compliance training.
  6. Consults with managers regarding personnel-related issues, including administering coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans, as needed.
  7. Drafts and communicates engaging organizational announcements that provide employees with useful updates on HR services and business information.
  8. Manages the exit interview process, identifies opportunities and areas of concerns requiring follow-up.
  9. Makes recommendations on HR process improvements and executes those process improvements, as needed.
  10. Facilitates the new employee orientation and onboarding process and ensures support to both managers and employees as part of the new hire process.
  11. Counsels employees on correct interpretation and application of company programs, policies, and processes, responds to related inquiries and concerns.
  12. Maintains HR files and records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of all employee information.
  13. Leads employee engagement initiatives and prepares organizational communications for the site.
Requirements

2-5+ years of increasing Human Resources experience, preferably in mid to large-size manufacturing organizations.

Customer-focused, proactive, positive, and driven to achieve departmental and corporate goals in a fast-paced environment.

Strong consultative skills and ability to partner with managers/professionals to understand needs and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.

Experience in an array of areas: recruiting, employee development, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, and performance management.

Track record of investigating and resolving employee relations issues.

Knowledge of employment laws, including Federal and California Leave Laws.
