Job Overview

Position Summary:

Are you a motivated and friendly accounting expert eager to become part of a dedicated team? We are seeking a talented individual to oversee our monthly financial operations, including business and personal tax filings, as well as sales and property tax submissions. You will serve as the primary contact for approximately 25 monthly clients, managing around 125 tax returns for businesses and individuals each year.

The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, have a strong grasp of tax regulations, be knowledgeable in payroll processes, and exhibit excellent communication abilities. A fast-paced, collaborative, and technology-driven environment is where you thrive. You should be able to perform well under pressure, be self-driven, and pay attention to detail. Our clientele consists of several small enterprises, and we are looking for someone who aligns with our values of positivity, efficiency, flexibility around deadlines, and a strong commitment to our organization. Compensation & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounting tasks for small businesses
  • Reconcile accounts in the general ledger
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports detailing income, expenses, and accounts receivable/payable
  • Ensure the accuracy of client accounts and maintain effective communication
  • Compile financial statements that outline business revenues and expenditures
  • Accurately and promptly prepare business and corporate tax returns
  • Handle sales tax and property tax filings
  • Identify and rectify discrepancies
  • Ensure adherence to Federal and State regulations
  • Provide general advice on taxation and cost-saving measures
  • Assist with administrative tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related discipline
  • Preferred: EA or CPA certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or relevant experience and/or education
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Xero and QuickBooks (both Desktop and Online) is advantageous
  • At least 5 years of experience in tax preparation within a dynamic, organized, and detail-oriented setting
  • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
