Job Overview

PROTEK Consulting is seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist III to join our team. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our clients.

This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity that requires 5 days per week on-site in Rockville, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, with experience working in a Windows environment and providing support for desktop computers and mobile devices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring the Helpdesk Ticketing System to ensure timely responses to client requests
  • Providing Tier 1 & 2 technical support for system users
  • Managing Active Directory/Office 365 user accounts
  • Repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures
  • Collaborating with the Desktop Engineering team to perform system and software testing procedures
  • Updating assigned tickets and coordinating necessary work
  • Advising management of potential risks to the IT environment
  • Maintaining professional demeanor and behavior at all times

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required
  • 5+ years of IT-related experience with 2+ years of System Administration experience
  • Experience providing IT support in a Windows environment
  • Hands-on experience working with all types of hardware
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, and other cloud environments
