Job Title: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

At Nebraska Medicine, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of neonatal nursing. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team.

About the Role

This is a full-time position in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill newborns and their families. As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, you will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to provide primary, acute, chronic, and critical care to neonates, infants, and toddlers up to two years of age.

Responsibilities
  • Attend high-risk deliveries and resuscitations
  • Execute clinically indicated advanced diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures
  • Perform daily patient management in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate patient responses in collaboration with a designated supervising physician
  • Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic medical and/or surgical procedures
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing
  • Minimum of two years RN experience or equivalent combination of RN and nurse practitioner experience combined
  • Ability to function with autonomy and make independent decisions while functioning as part of a comprehensive team
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written forms
  • Ability to provide critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Efficient use of information systems, data processing systems, telecommunication devices, office equipment, and audiovisual teaching/education resources
  • Ability to comprehend and follow policy, procedure, guidelines, and protocols
  • Flexibility and dedication to team involvement and supporting organizational goals
  • Knowledge of health care policy and societal factors affecting the delivery of care
  • Familiar with patient care equipment as appropriate to specialty area
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska or current compact state
  • Currently licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
