Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Analyst to join our team at the University of California, Office of the President. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for supporting complex procurement assignments, analyzing data, and making informed purchasing decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preview new requisitions and provide feedback to requesting departments
  • Draft and execute purchase orders, utilizing standard terms and conditions for materials, supplies, equipment, and services
  • Interpret and apply University policies and procedures
  • Regularly communicate with the organization's customers, reducing risk to the University by ensuring departmental compliance with procurement policy
  • Negotiate with suppliers for lower prices and better terms

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills using a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and discretion to interact in a positive manner with diverse constituents
  • Ability to read and interpret terms and conditions of contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of contracting principles and practices, methods, and procedure used in competitive procurement
  • Knowledge of RFP/RFQ preparation
