Job Title: Procurement Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Analyst to join our team at UC San Diego. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing commodities of a technical and specialized nature, negotiating and managing service contracts, and assisting with the solicitation of prospective vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing commodities of a technical and specialized nature
  • Negotiating and managing service contracts
  • Assisting with the solicitation of prospective vendors
  • Completing cost-savings reports and spend analyses
  • Identifying and working with key stakeholders to increase customer satisfaction and vendor performance
Requirements:
  • Analytical skills necessary to evaluate the quality and cost effectiveness of multiple and complex purchasing options
  • Ability to analyze complex data and information, recognize potential impact, identify alternative solutions, and make recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, communication and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to read and interpret terms and conditions of contracts
  • Strong level of proficiency in the use of standard spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft software applications
