Garver is on the lookout for a dedicated Transportation Systems Analyst to join our expanding traffic and transportation planning division.

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of relevant experience, a robust technical foundation, and a genuine enthusiasm for the field.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the analysis and design of innovative projects for our Department of Transportation and municipal clients throughout our service area.

The selected candidate will report to a Senior Project Manager and will enjoy remarkable growth potential and career advancement opportunities.

The responsibilities of the ideal candidate will include:
Conducting traffic and safety assessments
Executing traffic simulations and level of service evaluations
Formulating access management strategies and lane configurations for new or revised alignments
Creating traffic signal timing plans
Compiling summary documentation and reports
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and effectively conveying concepts to clients

Additional responsibilities include:
Assisting with project management to define project scopes, budgets, and tracking project progress.
Maintaining a client-centered, service-oriented approach by monitoring budgets and ensuring projects adhere to timelines.
Preparing project proposals and participating in interviews for project opportunities
Engaging in direct client marketing and fostering relationships with existing clients within our service area
Mentoring junior staff members

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited engineering program

  • 10 years of experience with traffic-related projects
Exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential.
Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license or be able to obtain one within 6 months of hire
Proficient understanding of the Highway Capacity Manual & Trip Generation Manual is required
Familiarity with capacity analysis, traffic forecasting, and safety analysis (including HSM) is necessary
Experience with traffic simulation software (VISSIM, CORSIM, etc.), Synchro, and HCS is required
Experience in evaluating intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts
Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in civil engineering
Experience in transportation planning and travel demand modeling (TransCAD)

Experience utilizing ArcGIS for data analysis, including reviewing extensive crash data to spatially map and analyze trends and clusters.

Experience with pedestrian and bicycle enhancement projects and studies
Experience in marketing and managing local government projects
Experience collaborating with ARDOT and municipalities in Arkansas
Certification as a PTOE and/or RSP
