Position Overview

As a Rental Technician, you will be responsible for delivering and retrieving equipment and supplies to and from customer job sites using vehicles with a gross weight of less than 26,000 pounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading, unloading, and securing equipment.
  • Transporting equipment and supplies over long distances.
  • Demonstrating proper equipment usage to customers upon delivery.
  • Performing necessary equipment servicing to ensure optimal operating conditions at job sites.
  • Communicating effectively with customers and the Service Manager regarding equipment issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Refueling equipment on-site as required.
  • Conducting safety inspections on equipment and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Executing preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the work vehicle to ensure safety.
  • Adhering to all company, governmental, and equipment-related safety standards.
  • Completing inspection reports for outgoing and returned equipment, as well as maintaining log books and trip sheets in compliance with D.O.T. and company record-keeping requirements.

To excel in this role, you must possess a current CDL license with a HazMat endorsement and maintain a driving record that meets Sunbelt's quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong language skills to respond to inquiries and present information effectively.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations.
  • Reasoning ability to identify problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Preferred 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tractor-trailer operation and hauling.
  • Ownership and safe use of mechanic's tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with delivery areas and safety requirements for equipment handling is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends and holidays.

The physical demands of this position include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more, as well as working indoors and outdoors as required.
