Job Title: Desktop Support Technician

Job Summary:
Cynet Systems is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to staff members with installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of computers and peripherals.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist staff with installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of computers and peripherals within established standards and guidelines.
• Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems.
• Collaborate with service desk and RDS to determine and resolve problems received from clients.
• Respond to support requests from the service desk, users, and other infrastructure teams.
• Perform upgrades as directed to ensure the longevity of equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of requests and ensure timely implementation.
• Participate in incident handling and projects concerning desktop changes.

Technical Requirements:
• Experience with managing remote sites.
• Phone support experience is necessary.
• Technical helpdesk or technical call center experience is necessary.
• Disciplined, systematic problem-solving skills are required.
• Proficiency in Windows and Novell Operating Systems.

System Knowledge:
• Familiarity with Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000.
• Knowledge of Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Windows 2008 servers.
• Understanding of Active Directory, Novell Directory, Lotus Notes, and Exchange 2003/2007.
• Experience with ITSM ticketing tools such as Remedy and Client Service Center.
• Familiarity with remote desktop connectivity applications like SMS, Bomgar, WebEx, Live Meeting, and Windows Native tools.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (XP, 2003, 2007): MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Project, and MS Visio.
• Knowledge of Internet browsers (e.g. Explorer, Chrome, Firefox).
• Experience with VPN and remote dial-in users.
• Support for laptops, desktops, AV Devices, and printers.
• Familiarity with PDA and Blackberry support.
• Knowledge of Apple iPad device support.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a technical support role.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
