Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Senior Access Associate to join our team at the University of Virginia Health System. As a key member of our access services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive timely and effective access to medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments with the correct provider, ensuring all necessary information is included and coordinating same-day appointments when possible.
  • Educate patients and families on managed care processes, communicate authorizations as needed, and review potential financial obligations.
  • Advocate for patients and families while coordinating multi-visit scheduling appointments.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, assisting patients in obtaining access to medical services at UVA Health System.
  • Document each request thoroughly and accurately.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve or refer problems and conflicts as appropriate.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • No license or certification required.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Experience with customer service and marketing/sales.
Physical Demands

The job requires sitting for extended periods, repetitive motion (computer and mouse use), and proficient communication skills across spoken and written domains. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly and compose messages clearly and concisely are essential.
