Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Access Associate to join our team at the University of Virginia Health System. As a key member of our access team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive timely and effective access to medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule appointments with the correct provider, ensuring all necessary information is included and coordinating appointments on the same day when possible.
  • Patient Education and Communication: Educate patients, parents, or guardians on the managed care process, communicate authorizations as needed, and review potential financial obligations.
  • Advocacy and Customer Service: Advocate for patients and families while coordinating multi-visit scheduling appointments, providing exceptional customer service, and assisting customers in obtaining access to medical services.
  • Documentation and Problem-Solving: Document each request completely and accurately, investigate and resolve or refer problems and conflicts as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma required, Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience as an Access Associate fully cross-trained to cover multiple specialties.
  • Licensure: None required.
