About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychologist to join our team as a Behavioral Health Services Manager. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality behavioral health services in our facilities across the Western United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational guidance and support to medical teams at the corporate and facility levels, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Develop and manage the medical operations strategic plan and annual operating plan, aligning with the organization's mission and values.
  • Promote facility operational policies and procedures, ensuring consistency with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Corporate Contract Compliance to develop and implement operational monitoring tools for medical and clinical operations.
  • Serve as a consultant to multidisciplinary teams, providing mental health training and expertise on assessment, treatment, and suicide prevention.
  • Assist in the development and modification of behavioral health programs for all facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and monitor suicide prevention programs within all facilities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for inmates and detainees.
  • Provide guidance on the development and execution of facility plans of correction related to psychology and programming compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate exposures, recommending plans of action to minimize or eliminate risks and ensuring implementation with senior and facility management staff.
  • Oversee standards and controls through reviews, site visits, and formal internal, external, and client audits, providing information to senior management on necessary processes and systems to improve total performance.
  • Partner with security, nursing, and administrative leadership to ensure procedures are consistent with the developmental needs of each inmate or detainee.
  • Provide guidance and participate in new facility start-ups, ensuring a smooth transition and effective implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Perform ongoing reviews to ensure appropriate patient care measures and procedures are updated and maintained on a current basis, facilitating training and development for facility leadership and ongoing medical education programs for licensed mental health treatment providers.
  • Provide tele-mental health services when requested, maintaining knowledge of trends and developments in the field through reading relevant articles, journals, and attending seminars and conferences.
  • Assist in developing and implementing all policies in accordance with ACA, NCCHC, state, federal, and local requirements, completing clinical performance reviews as necessary.
Requirements
  • PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an accredited university and current license as a Psychologist is required.
  • Five (5) years of progressive administrative experience in mental health care and/or correctional administration is required.
  • Ability to obtain licensing in the states where services are provided is required.
  • Must possess highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge of state and federal health regulatory laws, objectives, and policies.
  • Ability to provide Tele-Mental Health services or on-site clinical services if required.
  • Must possess working knowledge of correctional mental health standards, including regulatory agency requirements (i.e., NCCHC and ACA).
  • Must be able to work independently and within groups, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel with frequent overnight stays and work with computers and necessary software typically used by the department.
