Inventory Planning Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Planning Specialist to join our team at Beacon Building Products. As an Inventory Planning Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining the Residential and Commercial product lines, working closely with the Inventory Planning & Replenishment Manager to ensure optimal inventory levels and efficient supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize ordering costs, inventory turns, and volume discounts
- Source non-standard items from vendors and negotiate pricing and delivery terms
- Analyze inventory levels, sales trends, and market conditions to inform procurement decisions
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring quality, service, and delivery performance
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement initiatives to reduce excess and obsolete inventory
- Communicate with field staff and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless inventory management
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly
- Process data entry requests and conduct system inquiries to ensure accurate inventory records
- Adhere to company procurement policies and procedures
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure compliance and accuracy
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, procurement, or supply chain analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to influence multiple stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Working Conditions
- Minimal travel requirements, with flexibility to work remotely or from company offices
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer, with heavy verbal and auditory communication
