The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work in a hybrid environment from VHB's offices.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal Development

  • Lead the preparation of proposals and qualification packages, with standard oversight from marketing management and senior marketing personnel.
  • Facilitate kick-off meetings, preparing necessary materials and managing proposal review processes.
  • Independently develop proposal and interview management plans, including outlines, page limits, and schedules.
  • Interpret and translate RFP requirements to assist technical authors effectively.
  • Provide guidance to technical team members in developing tailored content and writing instructions.
  • Review, edit, and enhance content created by technical staff, ensuring clarity and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Coordinate client presentation preparations and serve as a strategic partner to technical staff.
  • Collaborate closely with graphic designers and subject matter experts to produce high-quality proposals.
  • Maintain regular communication with subconsultants, ensuring all materials are tracked and edited as necessary.
  • Ensure all proposal submissions meet solicitation requirements, including formatting and content specifications.
  • Verify compliance with branding standards and template styles.
  • Assist senior marketing staff during complex pursuits, potentially leading sections of significant proposals.
  • Develop and maintain boilerplate content, contributing to the proposal knowledge base.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong commitment to quality and detail-oriented work.
  • Ability to conduct research and seek necessary information effectively.
  • Team-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple tasks independently and collaborate positively.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-focused.
  • Proficient in persuasive writing techniques.
  • Ability to edit and reformat documents efficiently under time constraints.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in proposal writing or marketing within the professional services sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Communications, or a related field.
