Job Overview

The primary role of the PACS System Management Specialist is to oversee, sustain, and resolve issues related to the PACS infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Overseeing, sustaining, and troubleshooting the PACS infrastructure.

Administering and implementing the storage solutions for all incoming digital images from various sources to establish and maintain routing systems for diagnostic imaging.

Formulating and executing strategies while providing technical assistance.

Educating end-users and designing initiatives to enhance system management.

Acting as a liaison for the ongoing development and enhancement of the system.

Installing, configuring, and managing the connectivity of modalities within the existing network.

Co-managing user profile administration.

Overseeing the updating and archiving processes of image data.

Managing vendor partnerships and ensuring technology maintenance.

Collaborating with the IT infrastructure team to articulate storage and computational requirements for the PACS application.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient understanding of medical technology fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with HL7 / DICOM standards in both theory and practice.
  • Basic comprehension of database architectures and the ability to create database queries (e.g., SQL).
  • Fundamental knowledge of current server operating systems, virtual environments, and networks, along with proficient handling of client hardware/software.
  • Insight into diagnostic imaging and workflows.
  • Working knowledge of VPN (virtual private network) and NAT (network address translation) technologies.
  • Experience with GE PACS is essential.
  • Structured and independent work approach.
  • Strong collaborative skills and a commitment to ongoing training.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Educational Requirement:

A Bachelor's degree in a medical or technological discipline such as Radiology, Electronic Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
