Environmental Systems Specialist

Job Summary:
The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Collections Support Division, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the delivery of various projects and assignments to support the continuous operation of our wastewater collections facilities and linear assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate the oversight of the design and construction of various projects related to wastewater collections facilities, equipment, and linear assets.
- Manage staff efficiently and effectively to ensure adequate staffing of projects and assignments.
- Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with Collections Operations, Agency Bureaus, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Ensure compliance with Agency standards and goals, and make modifications to existing vendor contracts as needed.
Requirements:
- A valid New York State Professional Engineer License.
- Four years of full-time experience in environmental engineering, or a master's degree in environmental engineering from an accredited college.
- At least one year of experience as a major contributor or project leader on a complex project requiring additional expertise in environmental engineering disciplines.
