Job Title: Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist

Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist will be responsible for operating ultrasonic diagnostic equipment to examine various parts of the body, performing technical procedures, and maintaining a high standard of medical ethics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ultrasonography, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasonic diagnostic equipment to examine various parts of the body, including the pelvis, lower and upper abdomen, and retroperitoneal area.
  • Perform a variety of technical procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
  • Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures, as required.
  • Transfer and position patients, provide immobilization devices, and select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
  • Protect patients in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Perform quality assurance to images and facilitate the delivery of images to the PACS System for dictation.
  • Input sonographic findings into the procedure section of the EMR office visit note for provider dictation and interpretation.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Ultrasonography.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • RDMS (AB) and RVT (Preferred).
  • Additional registries may be required to obtain after hire.
  • Ability to accept direction and work within a team concept.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual, English/Spanish a plus.
  • Proficient in Word/Excel.
