Job Overview

As an Electronics Component Specialist at Zobility, you will play a crucial role in the management and optimization of our parts library, ensuring that our engineering processes are efficient and effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance of the Arena Parts library from a component engineering perspective.
  • Assist the component engineering team in implementing multi-sourcing strategies within our design and manufacturing processes, while managing part lifecycle effectively.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Program Management teams to ensure alignment between component availability, cost, and scheduled production timelines.
  • Support design engineers in selecting appropriate electronic components for various applications.
  • Create Internal Part Numbers for new component requests in the Arena PLM database for new designs.
  • Review and refine the Bill of Materials (BoM) to ensure compliance with application specifications (AEC-Q, Electrical/Mechanical, Temperature grade).
  • Manage the lifecycle of electronic components within the supply chain (EOL/LTB, PCNs, etc.).
  • Assist the supply chain team during clear to build (CTB) reviews by identifying alternative components for anticipated shortages.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and workflows across cross-functional teams.
  • Provide weekly updates to management regarding progress on deliverables and potential risks.

Qualifications

  • Experience in component engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in assessing and evaluating new or enhanced electronic components.
  • Familiarity with Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) and ECAD tools (Altium, OrCAD) relevant to component responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of the AEC-Q qualification process.
  • Background in Electrical Engineering Design/Test.
  • Experience with Altium software.
