Clinical Nurse II

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our Surgical Services team at Chatham Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities- Education and Professional Development
Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and others. Attend education programs based on identified learning needs and utilize patient education materials relevant to the patient population.
Evaluation of CareIdentify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance as needed in revision of the plan of care. Participate in discussion with members of the interdisciplinary team in evaluation of patient care and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.
ImplementationDemonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, including population-appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care. Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required for the patient care plan and utilize healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care.
LeadershipDevelop goals to promote professional growth or minimize limitations and achieve goals and objectives within identified time frames or renegotiate with the supervisor. Participate in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities and effectively use communication systems.
Patient AssessmentRecognize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care and include appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs. Synthesize assessment data into meaningful wholes prior to communication to others and assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families.
PlanningCollaborate with patients and families to prepare or update the plan of care and make use of available multidisciplinary resources in planning care. Identify and address cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care and demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems.
ResearchRead journals that contain studies or articles that may be applicable to practice and bring ideas and questions to the staff at large for assessment of applicability.
RequirementsEducation Requirements:
Graduation from a school of professional nursing. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
Professional Experience Requirements:
One (1) year of nursing experience.

Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity
