Job OverviewPosition SummaryOverview

The Inventory Management Specialist is accountable for maintaining essential stock levels in the Operating Room (OR) and ensuring that orders are accurately processed and monitored within the inventory management system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees the maintenance of critical inventory levels in the OR by analyzing usage data, making informed ordering decisions, validating incoming orders, addressing discrepancies, and removing expired supplies. Manages the ordering and tracking of non-stock items and consignment products, while assisting clinical staff with new item requests.
  • Ensures supply areas are organized and tidy to facilitate accurate inventory counts and the timely removal of outdated items.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with designated service line managers to guarantee effective communication regarding inventory shortages, surpluses, and other related concerns.
Additional Duties
  • Performs various other tasks as assigned.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and standards.
  • For detailed responsibilities, refer to the departmental documentation provided during orientation.
  • Must comply with all regulations to securely manage Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients, including annual training and adherence to the organization's Code of Conduct and policies.
QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Some college education (Preferred)
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with computer systems (Required)
  • Experience in customer service (Preferred)
Skills and Competencies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (Required)
  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory processes in a healthcare setting (Preferred)
  • Proficient in using PCs, Microsoft Excel, Word, and standard office equipment (Required)
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds (Required)
  • Willingness to learn and utilize Oracle I-Procurement and related applications for inventory management (Required)
