We are seeking a highly skilled Seed Technology Specialist to join our team at BASF Corporation. As a key member of our Nunhems vegetable seed operations, you will be responsible for representing the physiology team in the US and driving innovation in seed quality testing and processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage optimization projects within the Global Processing, Production, and Quality Assurance Department, analyzing and evaluating current products and processes used in daily seed processing.
  • Coordinate task forces and project groups to define problem definitions, trial designs, timelines, actions, and responsibilities.
  • Evaluate trial results through thorough data analysis, including statistical analysis when applicable, and design and modify equipment and/or procedures to enhance and maintain overall seed quality.
  • Collaborate with analysts through monthly video conferencing to fine-tune projects and ensure seamless execution.
  • Design and modify equipment and/or procedures to address seed quality issues and establish guidelines for cleaning, auditing, and repairing moisture machines to maintain uniform accurate seed moisture results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an agricultural or horticultural related field of study.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the seed business, preferably in seed enhancement procedures and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Seed Physiology.
  • Excellent coordination, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer and technology literacy, including data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a cross-functional team member and with diverse personalities while maintaining mutual respect.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and ability to scout new business initiatives and transfer to existing capabilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
