Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the assessment and provision of grief counseling services, ensuring timely and appropriate support for family caregivers
  • Develop and enhance the Bereavement Program through regular evaluation and improvement of services
  • Offer bereavement support to hospice staff dealing with work-related grief through individual counseling and supervision of interns
  • Provide information and referral services to community members seeking bereavement support, while maintaining an updated resource list
  • Assist in evaluating and planning support services for hospice personnel, including retreats and support groups
  • Work independently while collaborating with team members and community resources as needed
  • Engage in hospice activities such as in-service training, personnel meetings, and relevant committees

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience working with families and caregivers through end-of-life issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of grief responses and experience in counseling individuals or groups
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required
