Job Overview

This role is designed to deliver extensive sourcing assistance to Proterra's Sourcing Manager and other members of the site leadership team. You will be responsible for supporting the supplier strategy and sourcing initiatives related to the current supply base, new product lines, and design modifications. Key performance indicators include, but are not limited to, the percentage of components under contract, timely sourcing of new parts, accurate part setup in Oracle, and efficient purchase order creation, along with ensuring alignment with Accounts Payable for timely supplier payments, tracking engineering changes, collecting Buy America certificates, and aiding the Sourcing organization in achieving its objectives for cash flow, cost reduction (Bill of Materials), and supplier capacity by collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, including Suppliers, Manufacturing, Engineering, Service, Finance, and Quality.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Ensuring parts availability (to source) from item master to purchase order while confirming correct Oracle part setup.
  • Achieving a sourcing rate of 95%+ OTTS (on time to source) within two weeks of ECO release, while considering supplier lead times, to support New Product Introduction.
  • Utilizing Oracle for part setup and planning activities.
  • Analyzing commodity volumes for contracting opportunities and negotiating pricing agreements with key suppliers.
  • Supporting cost reduction initiatives aimed at decreasing Bill of Materials costs through research, analysis, and negotiation.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback to Engineering on ECOs regarding supplier integration, inventory levels, and technical challenges.
  • Operating daily planning MRP tools and placing purchase orders to facilitate production.
  • Assisting the Supplier Chain manager by balancing cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Requesting suppliers for their Buy America Certificates, DBE, USMCA, and other necessary certifications.
  • Focusing on enhancing supplier performance to ensure timely delivery at our facilities.
  • Executing additional tasks as assigned by management.

This position is integral to the Sourcing team that supports Proterra's Manufacturing and Engineering operations.

Your Qualifications Include:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in business or engineering or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or high-tech industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, particularly Excel.
  • A strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle).
  • Experience in research, analysis, and negotiation.
  • Experience in managing multiple objectives and communicating effectively with users and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Tableau is a plus.
