About the Job

We are currently seeking a qualified Psychiatric Care Assistant to join our team at the State of California's Department of Developmental Services. This role involves providing general behavioral training and psychiatric nursing care to STAR consumers in a home environment.

Job Summary

In this position, you will engage with consumers and model safe and healthy living behaviors, while working collaboratively with community home staff and family members to maintain continuity of care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing on-site direct care, training, and recreational activities
  • Assisting with daily living tasks and maintaining a safe and healthy living environment
  • Documenting consumer progress and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate and meet the minimum qualifications stated in the Classification Specification.
