Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team at King County. As a key member of our Jail Health Services team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals in our correctional facilities. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and contribute to the well-being of our community.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including assessments of mental status, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Develop and implement individualized mental health treatment plans, ensuring coordination of services and oversight of referrals.
- Provide psychiatric care to clients on an independent basis, including prescribing and dispensing medications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary health teams to ensure high-quality care and effective communication.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, continuing education, and staff development initiatives.
- Washington State license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) with prescriptive authority.
- Completion of advanced practitioner training and board certification as a nurse practitioner within the specialty practice.
- National Provider Identification (NPI) number and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
- Current BLS CPR certification with AED training.
- Minimum of 2 years prescribing experience.
