Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for conducting analytical assessments, preventive maintenance, and repair tasks for a diverse fleet of construction machinery, trucks, cars, and hand tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive and heavy machinery repair, with experience working on both gasoline and diesel engines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting analytical assessments and repair tasks for a diverse fleet of equipment
- Performing preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Working on both gasoline and diesel engines
- Collaborating with other mechanics and technicians to achieve team goals
Requirements:
- Successful completion of the commonwealth's Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee program
- Two years of journey level mechanic experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
Special Requirements:
- Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License
- Must possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
Conditions of Employment:
- All employees must obtain an active certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in the operation of heavy trucks and loaders within the probationary period
- Employees may be required to obtain and maintain CDL endorsements and certifications necessary to operate specific pieces of equipment
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions
