Job Summary


As a Procurement Specialist at Dorman Products, you will offer procurement assistance to the Cross Functional Teams and Procurement Department, ensuring that optimal sourcing decisions and strategies are effectively implemented.

Primary Duties

1. Develop and oversee strategic initiatives aimed at monitoring and enhancing Supplier performance through corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.


2. Support the execution of a Supplier Relationship Management program to manage all supplier interactions, ensuring alignment with corporate and product strategies.


3. Facilitate timely and clear communication, advising management of critical issues and proposing solutions for assigned categories and/or projects.

4. Actively participate as a member of cross-functional teams, working collaboratively towards the successful achievement of team goals and objectives.


5. Maintain and update progress reports, providing project analyses as required by the Procurement and/or Cross Functional Team.

6. Ensure system data is accurately maintained through team and functional processes.

7. Deliver on cost reduction commitments and execute strategic sourcing initiatives.

8. Evaluate and recommend suppliers to support both new product development and cost-saving initiatives.


9. Identify and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, service, and quality by leveraging tools such as commodity trends and market conditions.


10. Develop and manage suppliers to achieve Corporate Goals, including Fill Rate, Inventory reductions, Cost savings, and Sales.

11. Ensure the successful execution of sourcing strategies and tactics.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills preferred.

- Experience within ERP/MRP environments.

- Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, resourceful, and able to work effectively in a team setting.

- Ability to initiate, communicate, and take action to resolve issues both internally and externally.

- Capability to manage and analyze large volumes of data.

- Ability to integrate with the cultural environment of the global supply base and Dorman's international offices.

- Must adhere to ethical business standards and make impartial business decisions.

- Experience with manufacturing processes, SAP, Business Objects, and an Automotive/Electronics background is preferred.

Physical Requirement:
Ability to lift 20 pounds.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items between locations, and engage in active listening and speaking.

The noise level is typically moderate.

Education / Experience


- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a focus in Management, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business.

- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a business professional or in a military office.
