Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Literacy Program Manager to lead a gender-specific curriculum for girls in kindergarten through third grade as part of our East Bay Expanded Learning Programs.
About the Role:
As a Literacy Program Manager, you will work closely with afterschool site coordinators and school district personnel to deliver high-quality academic, enrichment, and recreational services to students during the after-school hours, five days a week throughout the school year.
Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Create, plan, and execute lesson plans that support school-day learning and promote literacy skills in students.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with youth to support their learning and development, and model best practices in a safe and emotionally supportive environment.
- Communication: Maintain open, clear, and consistent communication with site coordinators, school district personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in literacy education and program management.
Requirements:
- Experience: Classroom experience is a plus, but not required.
- Availability: Available Monday through Friday, 23 hours per week, afternoons until 6 pm.
- Reliability: Ability to reliably commute to Richmond.
- Commitment: Commitment to social justice and leadership, as well as a passion for learning and youth development.
- Teamwork: Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Literacy Skills: Familiarity with teaching literacy concepts and a commitment to promoting literacy skills in students.
