POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a committed and adaptable individual to fulfill the role of an In-House Long-Term Substitute Teacher. This position is designed to positively influence student learning while providing essential support to our core teaching staff. The In-House Long-Term Substitute Teacher will be engaged on an as-needed basis, depending on staff vacancies and absences. We recognize that the quality and presence of educators are paramount to student success, making it essential to recruit, develop, and retain exceptional teachers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive learning atmosphere while effectively managing student behavior in line with school policies.
  • Instructional Delivery: Design lesson plans aligned with the network-adopted curriculum and state standards, tailoring them to accommodate diverse student needs. Employ various instructional methods to engage students and foster critical thinking.
  • Communication: Foster open and professional dialogue with students, parents, and school personnel, providing timely feedback on student progress.
  • Supervision: Ensure student safety and well-being during instructional time, recess, and lunch, consistently enforcing school rules.
  • Collaboration: Work in partnership with administrative and support staff, participating in team meetings to ensure instructional continuity.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional growth opportunities and staff meetings to enhance teaching skills and stay informed on educational best practices.
  • Administrative Duties: Complete necessary administrative tasks, including attendance tracking and maintaining classroom organization.
  • Student Support: Provide individualized and small group assistance to students, addressing their academic and social-emotional needs.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Familiarize yourself with and adhere to school emergency protocols.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

  • Familiarity with public education and the charter school movement is preferred.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Possession of a substitute permit or willingness to obtain one.
  • Preferred experience of 1+ years in educational settings or working with youth.
  • Strong classroom management abilities and rapport-building skills.
  • Proven mastery of subject matter.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various grade levels and subjects.
  • Ability to adhere to established routines.
  • Experience in charter schools is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to twenty pounds.
  • Capability to navigate various facilities within the organization.

COMPENSATION

The daily salary for this role ranges from $315 to $325, commensurate with experience and qualifications. A competitive benefits package is also included.

This is a temporary position with the potential for long-term employment, requiring 100% in-person engagement.
