Position Overview

Role Summary: The High School Volleyball Coach is responsible for developing and leading the volleyball program, ensuring a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes.

Prerequisites:

  • NFHS Certification in First Aid, Health and Safety, and Fundamentals of Coaching.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification.

Educational Background:

A minimum of a High School Diploma is required, with a Bachelor’s Degree preferred from an accredited institution.

Experience:

Prior coaching experience in volleyball is preferred, along with a solid understanding of coaching fundamentals and techniques.

  • Exemplary character and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administration.
  • Proficient leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of high standards and conduct aligned with Leadership Public Schools' values.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all sports equipment and uniforms.
  • Recognize and support the unique needs of each athlete, guiding them to reach their full potential.
  • Establish safety protocols, team objectives, and goals.
  • Promote appropriate behavior during team activities and camps.
  • Engage parents and guardians in their children's development through collaborative relationships.
  • Report any violations of rules to the appropriate authorities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Engagement in both indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Travel may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Maintain mental acuity and dexterity for tasks such as operating a computer.
  • Effective communication skills, including hearing and speaking.
  • Visual acuity for observing and reading materials.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending.
