Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at the City of Albany, GA. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Inspect buildings and equipment to identify needed repairs and perform tests to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform skilled labor and repair functions, including electrical and mechanical repairs, painting, and plumbing.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, machinery, and tools, including utility vehicles, air conditioners, and power tools.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, such as inspecting equipment, checking fluid levels, and replacing fluids.
  • Assist with set-up and tear-down for special events and functions.
  • Maintain inventory of department equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Assist in designing building additions or renovations and read/interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in a related field, such as mechanics, painting, plumbing, or electrical work.
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License and possession of a valid Freon Handler/CFC Recovery certification (may be required).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull moderately heavy objects and materials.
