Job Summary

This is a full-time position with benefits that requires a skilled and detail-oriented individual to perform general maintenance and repair work on buildings, equipment, grounds, and related facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall, as well as masonry, custodial, and other maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular inspections of county facilities, equipment, and grounds to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Perform various tasks involving general building maintenance, carpentry, masonry, or construction/remodeling, including painting, concrete work, plaster applications, and sheetrock installation.
  • Inspect, install, and repair roofs, doors, and hardware, as well as replace windows, doors, and glass panes.
  • Lubricate hardware and perform locksmith duties.
  • Perform routine electrical tasks, including troubleshooting, installing electrical receptacles and switches, repairing electrical components, and replacing light bulbs and ballasts.
  • Assist in the maintenance of athletic field lighting systems.
  • Perform various plumbing tasks, including troubleshooting, installing and repairing plumbing fixtures, clearing and unblocking water lines and drains, and soldering pipes.
  • Repair plumbing leaks and assist in the repair and maintenance of septic systems.
  • Perform scheduled in-depth preventative maintenance and service/repair of HVAC mechanical systems and sub-systems, pneumatic and DDC control systems, air-handling evaporation systems, chillers, rooftop equipment, split systems, window units, heating/cooling water circulation systems, related fans, piping, pumps, and other components.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
