Position Overview:

The role of a Personal Banker II (PB II) is pivotal in fostering and enhancing customer relationships by delivering outstanding service. A PB II is tasked with initiating new accounts, processing loan applications, and addressing customer inquiries while recognizing opportunities to deepen existing banking connections. This position embodies Civista Bank's commitment to enriching the financial well-being of our staff and stakeholders, as well as positively impacting the communities we serve.

Core Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Engage with customers daily to cultivate relationships, which includes processing transactions, assessing customer needs, recommending suitable products, and connecting customers with relevant partners to ensure a superior customer experience.
  • Comply with regulations and adhere to policies and procedures to guarantee the safety and integrity of both customers and the bank.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of products and services to meet customer needs, driving sales performance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to opening new consumer deposit and lending accounts, establishing new business accounts, performing account maintenance, achieving cross-sell targets, and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of consumer lending and new account processes in daily operations; build customer trust and manage relationships throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Commit to personal development through continuous learning, adapting to new procedures and systems to enhance both the organization and the team.
  • Ensure that operational tasks are executed and completed on a daily basis.
  • Maintain cash levels and manage outages within established guidelines.
  • Engage in consistent communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote and facilitate the use of technology in everyday banking interactions, including educating customers on mobile banking, P2P transactions, and online banking services.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of prior experience in a teller role is required.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to work under pressure and manage frequent interruptions.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Above-average proficiency with technology and a willingness to embrace new software solutions.
  • Able to perform under deadlines with frequent interruptions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position may involve eye strain due to prolonged use of computer screens and reading reports.
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks amidst potentially distracting work conditions.
  • Physical capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Effective communication skills are necessary, both in person and via telephone.
  • Some travel may be required for meetings and training sessions.
