The Electrical Engineering Manager plays a dual role, balancing responsibilities as both an engineer and a leader. This position involves overseeing, guiding, and contributing to the design efforts of the Electrical, Firmware, and Electrical Technician teams. The manager is responsible for ensuring effective technical execution in critical areas such as product specifications, circuit design, circuit analysis, PCBA layout and technology, maintaining existing designs, developing test architectures and programs, conducting failure analysis on deployed products, and facilitating the launch of new products into manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical operations of the Electrical Engineering division.
  • Implement and uphold compliance with the design control processes established by Sun Nuclear Corporation.
  • Maintain awareness of and ensure adherence to regulatory standards necessary for the development of medical devices.
  • Conduct comprehensive technical reviews of schematics, PCBA layouts, cables, circuit analyses, test plans, firmware assessments, risk evaluations, and final design documentation.
  • Assess concepts and technologies for new product development, suggesting alternative system requirements when appropriate.
  • Design electrical circuits encompassing analog, digital, communication, and power supply components.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical engineering and physics teams to ensure high levels of cross-functional cooperation.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly in the development of embedded electromechanical systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role within engineering.
  • Experience in a quality system-regulated engineering environment is essential; experience in medical device engineering is preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence technical decisions across engineering and business functions.
  • Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Product specifications and requirements documentation.
  • Low noise analog circuit design.
  • Microcontroller-based digital design.
  • Firmware development using C and FPGA design with VHDL.
  • Design of encoded stepper and DC motor control systems.
