Job Summary

Our Land Electronics team in Melbourne, FL is seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and analyzing complex electrical systems for our C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including embedded systems, from concept to production
  • Drive technology advancements and ensure timely completion of projects within budget
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement electrical system designs
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
  • Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related technical field and a minimum of 8 years of experience
  • Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering a plus
  • Experience in the defense or aerospace industries a plus
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality production ready designs, with units in the field
  • Extensive experience with embedded systems that include x86 processors, application specific processors, microcontrollers, DSPs, or FPGAs
  • Extensive hands-on experience with bench level bring-up tasks, debug, and testing by leveraging excellent critical thinking skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to document complex technical topics
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Desired Skills
  • Experience with Cadence Schematic Capture and familiarity with Allegro PCB Editor preferred
  • Experience with networking and communication interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, and CAN preferred
  • Experience with video display interfaces such as LVDS, DisplayPort, and HDMI preferred
  • Experience with low to medium power switch mode power supply design preferred
