Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grants and Contracts Specialist to join our team at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the grant application and financial management processes to improve the competitiveness of all researchers and clinicians associated with the LSUHSC Cancer Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre- and post-award management of grants and contracts
  • Financial and faculty data reporting
  • Program management
  • Developing, managing, and coordinating the entire grant/contract application process
  • Locating available funding sources and developing liaisons with various funding agencies
  • Disseminating information to researchers
  • Fostering collaborative research efforts between investigators
  • Preparing all aspects of the grant application and process, including budgets and IRB approval
  • Managing the transfer of grants from other institutions for new faculty hires
  • Managing all grant-related activities for the NCI designation application process
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • Four years of professional-level work experience
  • Master's degree in one of the above fields can substitute for two years of professional-level work experience
  • Degrees in other disciplines are acceptable with an additional year of relevant professional-level experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in one of the above fields
  • Pre- and/or post-award federal grant management experience
