Job Summary

This position is designed to facilitate the development, review, and submission of extramurally funded grant applications and federally funded contracts in the Office of Research Services (ORS) for the entire 6-school health sciences center (HSC).

To expand the services provided to researchers and support the research goals of the institution, the ORS pre-award office seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented individual as the Grants Compliance Specialist (GCS).

The GCS will be responsible for reviewing internal routing packets and externally funded grant applications for the entire 6-school health sciences center.

The incumbent will provide direct support to researchers and their support staff, ensuring applications for funding are complete and in compliance with sponsor and university requirements.

Additionally, the GCS will identify potential funding opportunities with federal, state, and private funders and disseminate funding opportunity information to the university community.

This position reports to and works closely with the ORS Grants Office Manager and the Director of the Office of Research Services.

Responsibilities
  • Review and process internal routing packets and externally funded grant applications
  • Provide direct support to researchers and their support staff
  • Ensure applications for funding are complete and in compliance with sponsor and university requirements
  • Identify potential funding opportunities with federal, state, and private funders
  • Disseminate funding opportunity information to the university community
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years of experience in pre-award research administration in an academic setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Five years of experience working on pre-award administration in an academic setting
  • Certified Research Administration
