Overview

Sentara is hosting an exclusive interview event for individuals interested in joining our team as Healthcare Support Specialists . We are primarily looking for candidates who are eager to fill Full-Time positions .

Event Details

This is an invite-only opportunity. Interested candidates should apply for this role, and a recruiter will reach out to discuss available positions and schedule interview times.

As a Healthcare Support Specialist at Sentara, you will gain valuable experience and develop a variety of skills. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with patient care, supporting the admission and discharge processes, and providing essential services such as taking vital signs, performing blood draws, and ensuring patient comfort. You will work closely with nursing staff to meet the needs of our patients, fostering a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient admissions and discharges
  • Provide personal care to patients, including bathing and mobility assistance
  • Perform basic medical tasks such as blood draws and vital sign monitoring
  • Support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care
  • Observe and report changes in patients' conditions to nursing staff

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of one of the following programs:
    • Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
    • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
    • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
    • National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
    • US Navy Hospital Corps School
    • Emergency Services training (EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic)
    • Current enrollment in a clinical program with at least one semester completed (RN, LPN, RT, or PT)
    • Recent experience as a PCT or Nursing Assistant
  • American Health Associate BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of prior healthcare experience is preferred
