Job Overview


As a key member of the engineering team, the Electrical Engineer II will report directly to the Technical Engineering Manager. This role focuses on the support and enhancement of existing food equipment products within the AECOM portfolio.


The successful candidate will also play a vital role in the innovation and development of new product solutions tailored for the service sector.


This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to evaluate and validate alternative suppliers, materials, and electro-mechanical components, aiming to enhance equipment reliability and ensure consistent operational uptime for clients.

Key Responsibilities


- Collaborate closely with the Product Support Team, Project Leaders, and Product Managers to develop and implement tools and processes that enhance the customer experience and product quality.

- Lead the qualification process for alternative vendors, materials, and components, supporting the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts strategy.

- Develop and manage engineering change processes, including updates to drawings, approval workflows, and production releases.

- Support Product Lifecycle Management methodologies, encompassing product launches, technology maturity assessments, supply chain improvements, and end-of-life planning.

- Direct projects to ensure the organization is equipped to support new product launches through comprehensive training programs, service documentation, parts catalogs, and critical supply management.

- Coordinate quality initiatives aimed at enhancing product performance and improving field technician efficiency by applying industry-standard methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, 8D problem-solving, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).

- Create preventative maintenance strategies, including concept development, validation, and field implementation, utilizing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and design specifications.

Qualifications


- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field) is required.

- A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in equipment design and component selection, including knowledge of motors, pumps, transformers, relays, switches, and other control systems.

- Strong skills in change management, analytical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and communication.

- Experience in providing engineering support to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.

- Proficiency in 3D CAD design and bill of materials development using tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent software.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications


- Experience in machine design and manufacturing within the food, beverage, or consumer products sectors.

- Knowledge of controls, IoT, and connectivity technologies.

- Project management experience with cross-functional and global teams.
