As a Senior Electrical Engineer, reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing our existing food equipment products within the ITW Food Equipment Group portfolio. Additionally, you will contribute to the innovation of new product offerings tailored for the Hobart Service sector.
Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the Product Support Team, Project Leaders, and Product Managers to develop and implement tools and processes aimed at enhancing the customer experience and product quality. You will also be tasked with evaluating and validating alternative suppliers, materials, and electro-mechanical components to ensure optimal equipment reliability and uptime for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that enhance customer equipment experience and product quality.
- Lead the assessment and qualification of alternative vendors, materials, and components to align with our OEM parts strategy.
- Oversee engineering change management processes, including updates to drawings, approval workflows, and production releases.
- Support Product Lifecycle Management initiatives, encompassing product launches, technology maturation, supply chain optimization, and end-of-life planning.
- Manage projects to ensure the Hobart Service organization is equipped to support new product launches through comprehensive training programs, service manuals, parts catalogs, and critical parts supply.
- Coordinate quality assurance activities to enhance product performance and field technician efficiency by employing industry-standard methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, 8D problem-solving, and APQP.
- Design and implement preventative maintenance programs, including concept generation, validation, and field deployment, utilizing FMEA, MTBF, and design specifications.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
- 3-5 years of proven experience in equipment design and component selection, particularly with motors, pumps, transformers, relays, switches, and controls.
- Strong skills in change management, analytical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and communication.
- Experience in providing engineering support to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD design and bill of materials development using tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

- Experience in machine design and manufacturing within the food, beverage, or consumer products sectors.
