About the Role

The City of Edinburg is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Municipal Court Marshal. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Municipal Court, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a secure environment for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Deputy Municipal Court Marshals and oversee building security operations to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Ensure Effective Bailiff Duties and security building entry screening operations to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Serve Legal Processes as ordered by the Court, including serving subpoenas, summons, and other legal documents.
  • Process Arrested Persons into the Detention Center and perform necessary tasks for processing.
  • Provide Assistance and Support to other divisions within the department as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in a related field.
  • Five Years' Experience as a certified peace officer, including experience as a warrant officer/bailiff.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in a related field, seven years' experience in a related field, and supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Current and Valid Class C Driver's License from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
  • Licensed as a Peace Officer from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) with an Advanced Peace Officer Certification.
