Avera McKennan Hospital is proud to offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Stem Cell Laboratory.

About the Position

This role involves performing a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties, utilizing scientific principles and technical expertise to ensure accurate and reliable results.

Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical laboratory tests and procedures, including molecular, flow cytometry, and cell therapy
  • Utilize scientific principles and technical expertise to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Contribute to quality control and quality assurance initiatives
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve patient care goals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and completion of NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program
  • One to two years of experience/training acceptable to the ASCP or AMT for the Medical Laboratory Scientist
  • Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist from the ASCP or AMT
  • Experience with stem cell handling/processing, flow cytometry, and molecular techniques
