About the Position

This position is located in the U.S. Special Operations Command (Army) and is responsible for providing guidance and oversight for Risk Management and Internal Control efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and analysis, with experience in developing and maintaining internal control evaluation plans and facilitating the process for identifying and reporting material weaknesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop recommendations for improved work methods, operational processes, and material weakness management studies and programs.
  • Communicate with staff and component organizations as the agency's subject matter expert in developing internal controls, metrics, and unit Risk Management and Internal Control programs.
  • Provide leaders with detailed briefings or position papers on the adequacy and accuracy of managerial and financial systems and reports within the organization.
Requirements
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
  • This is a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position.
Qualifications
  • One year of specialized experience which includes developing recommendations for improved work methods, operational processes, and material weakness management studies and programs.
