Position Overview

As an Inventory Specialist, you are a vital contributor to the overall customer experience by optimizing product availability. Your responsibilities include managing incoming shipments and organizing merchandise on the sales floor, ensuring that the store remains tidy and well-stocked. Depending on the needs of the business, you may also assist in customer transactions or provide sales support. You will work closely with the management team to uphold store standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by welcoming and engaging with customers, while providing information about our extensive product range.
  • Organize merchandise displays and maintain aisles in accordance with established stocking protocols.
  • Oversee the freight process, ensuring that the sorting area is safe and orderly, which includes unloading deliveries, distributing products to designated areas, and addressing any inventory discrepancies.
  • Handle merchandise by opening cases, breaking down boxes, and managing waste materials responsibly.
  • Ensure that promotional signage is accurately placed, and assist in building attractive product displays.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Total Wine & More's diverse product offerings.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the store, including the sales floor, stockroom, and customer areas.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts based on business needs, accommodating both part-time and full-time schedules.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology relevant to the role and accessing necessary information to fulfill daily tasks.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in retail, merchandising, or inventory management, including customer interaction and stock replenishment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, engaging demeanor.
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to teamwork.
  • A genuine interest in expanding knowledge of products and services.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, bend, and remain on your feet for extended periods, typically 8-10 hours a day.
  • Capability to climb ladders and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. overhead repeatedly.
