Job Summary

As a Surgical Technologist Acute IV, you will play a vital role in providing patient care in the surgical suite while maintaining a safe work environment. This position requires exceptional skills in specialty areas such as neurosurgery and spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, complex orthopedics, and robotics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and its application.
  • Assist in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.
  • Assist Registered Nurse circulator in preparation of patient, assembly of supplies, instruments, equipment, and proper disposition of all specimens.
  • Assigned to heightened specialized procedures: neurosurgery and spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, complex orthopedics, and robotics.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or successful completion of military training program for Surgical Technology or Operating Room Specialist.
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
  • 5 years of total operating room experience in surgical technologist role required.
  • 2 years of specialized training in one of the following areas: neurosurgery and spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, complex ortho, and robotics required.
  • Current certification required.
Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional intermittent noise and exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, and chemicals. The ability to communicate and write is essential, as well as the ability to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds.
