Job Title: Patient Flow Shift Coordinator Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Patient Flow Shift Coordinator. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing requests for bed assignment and patient placement across our inpatient services. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize critical thinking to make informed patient placement decisions, taking into account patient diagnosis, prognosis, physician service, and other relevant factors.
  • Collaborate with multiple care partners to maintain an efficient patient throughput, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to capacity issues, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and guidelines.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical knowledge and best practices, applying this expertise to improve patient outcomes and care.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience.
  • Active and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Ohio.
  • 2-3 years of critical care experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with computer usage, data gathering, analysis, and statistical application.
