Job Summary

The Director of Institutional Research is a key member of the University of Bridgeport's leadership team, responsible for providing data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyze, and report on institutional data to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain databases, reports, and dashboards to provide timely and accurate information to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to ensure effective use of student information systems and resolve data-related issues.
  • Manage the institutional data request process, including fulfilling requests and providing data-driven insights.
  • Design and implement institutional surveys to gather data and inform decision-making.
  • Support the academic and co-curricular assessment process, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate and respond to external data requests, including IPEDS and CT-DOE.
  • Provide data analysis and interpretation to support college program development and evaluation.
  • Stay current with trends and best practices in institutional research and assessment.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social sciences, education research, statistics, business, or higher education administration.
  • Three to five years of experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting on institutional data in a higher education environment or equivalent business experience.
  • Strong Excel skills, including Conditional Formatting, VLookup, and Macros.
  • Knowledge of experimental design and quantitative/qualitative methodologies, including survey design.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
