Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Coordinator II to join our team at Houston Methodist Academic Institute. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for coordinating and gathering patient data for clinical research activities, as well as performing general administrative duties to support the study.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and gather patient data for clinical research activities, including identifying and recruiting clinical research subjects and monitoring enrollment goals.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in drafting various communications with sponsors and regulatory documents, as well as obtaining informed consent from study participants.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with study monitors and attend campus coordinator workshops.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and participate in pre-site visits and site initiation visits, as well as incorporate directions from other healthcare disciplines into clinical research protocols.
  • Prepare IRB documents under the direction of the PI and assist with answering IRB stipulations to obtain final approval.
  • Complete an initial patient assessment, assist in identifying patients at risk, and obtain vital signs and perform phlebotomy as needed.
  • Maintain and monitor source documentation and appropriate forms as per protocol for quality and accuracy.
  • Reconcile study drug accountability and maintain temperature and QC logs per protocol compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a health science field required.
  • Greater than or equal to 2 years' experience coordinating clinical research.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) certification required.
  • CCRC - Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (ACRP) or CCRP - Certified Clinical Research Professional (SOCRA) certification preferred.
