Purchasing and Design Specialist

Role OverviewThe Purchasing & Design Specialist is responsible for developing presale client deliverables for potential new/repeat meetings, incentives, and events. Key responsibilities include:
- Effective communication with team members and supplier partners to ensure accurate and timely proposal development.
- Delivering operational excellence and growth in collaboration with Client Services.
- Sourcing availability and strategizing on recommendations for city-wide programs of 10,000+ attendees and global road shows.
- Developing appealing programs incorporating creative inclusions to maximize client budget.
- Managing hotel, convention center, arena, and other venue RFPs, compiling bid analysis, and making recommendations to clients based on analysis and industry expertise.
- Maintaining awareness of emerging industry trends and incorporating innovative themes, concepts, activities, and events into proposals.
- Considering client/program objectives, program history, attendee demographics, and budget parameters when formulating recommendations.
- Negotiating competitive rates and terms/conditions on the client's behalf, leveraging supplier relationships and seeking opportunities to enhance value.
- Executing contracts, following established processes, and ensuring Client Services and clients are informed and their best interests represented in all terms and conditions.
- Participating in client presentations to present One10 travel-related capabilities and specific solution recommendations.
- Developing and maintaining industry relationships, including hotels, NSOs, DMCs, and CVBs.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Applies experience and working knowledge to accomplish tasks and processes. Has working-level skills and abilities, but still learning to address more complex problems, processes, and applying analytics.
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum four (4) years' industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong editing and writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
- Superior customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
