Latham, The Pool Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Fayetteville, TN location on 1st Shift/Days.

Latham is recognized as the largest designer, manufacturer, and marketer of residential inground swimming pools, operating with a dedicated workforce of over 2,000 employees across 32 facilities. The Fayetteville facility specializes in the production of fiberglass pools, where the use of respirators and safety PPE is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain operational efficiency of machinery and mechanical equipment by executing preventive maintenance tasks on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, systems, and production machines; adhering to diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications; diagnosing malfunctions.
  2. Identify issues by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for irregularities, and utilizing precision measuring and testing instruments.
  3. Dismantle devices to remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools; assess the condition of parts.
  4. Design and construct supporting structures such as frames, tables, and workstation aids.
  5. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
  6. Adjust functional components of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, and straightedges.
  7. Minimize downtime by educating production staff on routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring adherence.
  8. Fabricate repair components using machine shop tools and equipment.
  9. Manage equipment, parts, and supplies inventory by assessing stock levels, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  10. Optimize maintenance resources by utilizing equipment and supplies efficiently to achieve job results.
  11. Provide mechanical maintenance information by addressing inquiries and requests.
  12. Compile mechanical maintenance reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  13. Enhance technical knowledge by participating in educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
  14. Ensure continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
  15. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
  16. Thoroughly read and interpret manuals and diagrams to understand equipment operation and maintenance.
  17. Prioritize daily work orders based on performance levels.
  18. Schedule and execute preventative maintenance tasks.
  19. Maintain stock levels of replacement parts for shop equipment.
  20. Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as necessary.
  21. Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Familiarity with mechanical maintenance processes.
  • Solid understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as HVAC and fluid pumps; certifications are a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking skills for troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions.
  • Ability to work independently and execute tasks without supervision.
  • Effective time management skills to maintain a steady work pace while fulfilling work orders and demands.
  • Capability to operate a variety of tools and heavy equipment, including hand tools, power tools, air tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, and telehandlers.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all team members.
